4th Annual UCLA "I'm Going to College"

On Saturday, September 30th, forty-five ACRMA 4 students and four parents attended the UCLA’s “I’m Going to College” fair at the Rose Bowl. Our students had the opportunity to meet current UCLA students and receive information about college life, majors/career and school requirements. They were treated to carnival games, receive face painting, and get autographs from UCLA student-athletes. After the college fair, students were able to attend a UCLA Bruins football game at the Rose Bowl. The Bruins secured a 27-23 win over the University of Colorado. Our next event is on Saturday, October 7th, 2017 to a USC Football game against Oregon State University at the Los Angeles Coliseum.

6th grader Mathletes

Congratulations to our sixth grade team of Mathletes and coach Sandy Toriz who beat out the competition to represent our school at the Los Angeles County Math Field Day competition.

USC Men's Basketball 2016

On Sunday, November 13, our ACRMA 4 students attended a USC Men’s Basketball game at the Galen Center. They watched the Trojans take on the Mavericks from the University of Omaha, Nebraska. The Trojans defeated the Mavericks 82-72. After the game, students were treated and enjoyed a Caramel & Vanilla Frappuccino at a nearby Starbucks. Our next event will be on Sunday, January 15th, 2017 to a USC Women's Basketball game against the Beavers of Oregon State University at the Galen Center.

7th grade visits UC Riverside

On Thursday, October 13 all 7th grade students attended a college tour of the University of California, Riverside. Students were introduced to schools/majors, student library, bookstore, student center, clubs and organizations. Students also learned the UCR symbol and had an opportunity to interview UCR students. Thank you to all the 7th grade teachers and counselors for introducing our 7th grade students to their first UC.

USC Women's Soccer

On Sunday, October 23, our ACRMA 4 students attended a USC Women's Soccer game. They watched the Lady Trojans take on the Huskies from Washington University. The Lady Trojans defeated the Huskies 1-0. Our next event is on Sunday, November 13th, 2016 to a USC Men's Basketball game against the University of Nebraska at the Galen Center. This event will also help kick-start our Alliance Wide Basketball League for the 2016-2017 season.

UCLA "I'm Going to College"

On Saturday, October 1st, thirty-five ACRMA 4 students attended the UCLA’s “I’m Going to College” fair at the Rose Bowl. The fair provided a great opportunity to expose our students to university life, as well as a reminder that it’s never too early to begin thinking about college. Our students had the opportunity to play carnival games, receive face painting, and get autographs from UCLA student-athletes. After the college fair, students were treated to a UCLA Bruins football game at the Rose Bowl. The Bruins secured a 45-24 win over the University of Arizona Wildcats. Our next event is on Sunday, October 23, 2016 to a USC Women’s Soccer game against the University of Washington.

USC Women's Volleyball

On Saturday, August 27, our ACRMA 4 students attended a USC Women’s Volleyball tournament. They watched the ‘Women of Troy’ take on the Anteaters from UC Irvine. Students took a stroll around the Galen Center and were exposed to the Hall of Champions Trophy area and took a few pictures with college-athletes from the University of Marquette. This was our first kick-off event for our 2016-2017 "I’m Going to College” Tour. Our next event is on Saturday, September 10, 2016 to a USC Football game at the LA Coliseum.

8th graders visit USC

On Monday, June 6, the entire 8th grade class attended the final “I’m Going to College” tour for 2015-2016 at the University of Southern California. Students were introduced to the different schools/majors, library, bookstore, clubs/organizations, Hall of Champions and USC's Track & Field stadium. Thank you to all the 8th grade teachers and counselors for making this college trip so much fun!
