My name is Eva Wilson, and it is truly an honor to introduce myself as Principal in Residence of Alliance College-Ready Middle Academy 4. I began my teaching career in 2007, after graduating from Occidental College with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Education. I taught middle school Math and Science in South Los Angeles communities, including ACRMA4 when we first opened our doors in 2009. As an educator, it has always been my priority to actively disrupt inequity in South Los Angeles by providing the highest caliber education, empowering scholars to be agents of change, and transforming future life prospects for our students and larger community. This mission is what brought me to school leadership and to a Master’s degree in School Administration from Pepperdine University. I served as Director of Instruction at ACRMA4 for two years, Assistant Principal for eight years, and I am ecstatic to take this next step into principalship at our school for the 2020-21 academic year.
- Prioritize the health and safety of ACRMA4 students, families, and staff; employ and regularly update COVID-19 preventative guidelines, as recommended by CDC and public health experts.
- Deliver a rigorous, standards-aligned instructional program that prepares our students for high school and college. Regardless of whether instruction is virtual or hybrid (a combination of in-person and virtual instruction) next year, we will teach and practice the most important concepts in each subject area, provide small-group and 1:1 supports and accommodations, and use assessment data to respond to student’s needs and refine our academic program.
- Develop as an antiracist school that actively overturns cycles of inequity, poverty, oppression and limited opportunity for African American, Latinx, and minority students.
