My name is Jose Villafuerte and this is my fourth year as a School Counselor at CRMA #4. My interest in counseling is driven by my passion in developing our youth’s future. South LA is my second home and I love working with our inner city youth. I’ve enjoyed coaching our school’s basketball teams and being part of Students Run Los Angeles (SRLA). Through counseling, I have the opportunity to motivate students and help them understand that there is someone who cares about their success in all their endeavors. My goal: to make students see beyond their surroundings and open their eyes to the many opportunities available to them; from graduating high school to attending a 4 year University. My drive is what wakes me up every morning to answer the question, “Who am I going to impact today?” I will continue to influence my students with a limitless mentality showing them that the impossible means nothing and that any failure they may face will only make them stronger in life.

Mi nombre es José Villafuerte y este es mi cuarto año como consejero de la escuela CRMA # 4. Mi interés en consejeria es impulsado por mi pasión en el desarrollo de nuestra juventud. El Sur de Los Ángeles es mi segunda casa y me encanta trabajar con la juventud de hoy. He tenido la oportunidad de entrenar los equipos de baloncesto de nuestra escuela y ser parte del programa del maraton de Los Ángeles (SRLA). A través de consejeria, tengo la oportunidad de motivar a los estudiantes y ayudarles a comprender que hay alguien que se preocupa por su éxito en todos los aspectos de sus vidas. Mi objetivo es hacer que los estudiantes vean más allá de su entorno y abran sus ojos a las muchas oportunidades disponibles para ellos; como graduarse de la secundaria y asistir a una Universidad de 4 años. Mi determinación es lo que me despierta cada mañana para responder a la pregunta, "¿A quién podre impactar hoy?" Voy a seguir influyendo a mis estudiantes con una mentalidad ilimitada mostrándoles que lo imposible no significa nada y que todo error que puedan encontrar solo los hará más fuertes en la vida.
